
Opera’s latest beta version for Mac users adds to the already crowded browser market for the Mac OS. This is of course not a new addition to the browser wars on Mac, it is just an update. And what an update it is. With 10.50, Opera turns into a native Cocoa app, much like the Camino browser I sometimes use. It is still using the Presto rendering engine as opposed to other popular options like Webkit. But the highlight of the release? It is speed! This thing is super fast.

The Chrome browser is the kind of browser that we bloggers dream of. It is fast, more or less reliable and completely respects the fact that we need as much screen real-estate as possible. Google’s sense of minimalism on the Chrome almost rivals Apple’s minus the finesse of the latter. So Chrome for me is a browser with a lot of potential. However, since I am a Mac person, I do not get to use Chrome like my Windows counterparts do because Chrome for Mac is still in beta. However, the latest update to this piece of software is likely to please a lot of people.
