russ_onlive

OnLive is a service like no other in the market. This isn’t just another online gaming service like Valve’s Steam. It is actually a cloud service that not only hosts the games the users want to play, it actually runs the game in the cloud. This leaves the user-end systems completely unburdened. This is so very different in so many ways that it has the potential to change almost the entire gaming infrastructure.

Valve has finally gone ahead and released the Mac version of its Steam service. It has been on the gamers’ radar for a long time and Valve itself has been teasing the community for a few weeks. Then finally, at the GDC (the annual gaming dev event), Valve announced that Steam is coming to the Mac for real. Time to throw away that Boot Camp partition, I say!

After playing day by day for several weeks, I decided to gather the room escapes that I liked the most into a list. Below you can see the result. Enjoy!

  1. Crimson Room – The well known escape! The game that popularized the genre. It has to be no.1!

Most awaited action games of 2009 – a short list

Here’s a round up of some of the most awaited actions games of this year.

GTA 4: The Lost and the damned

GTA 4: The Lost and the damned

GTA 4: The Lost and the damned

This is not exactly a new game but a large-ish expansion pack to Grand Theft Auto IV (X-Box 360), called The Lost And The Damned. It reloads the super favorite Liberty city area and has a lengthy narrative to go with it. Great combination for those who are already tiring of playing as Niko Bellic. The new character is an mean, don’t-give-a-damn biker called Johnny Klebitz. The expansion has new weapons, new missions, new vehicles and also a multiplayer mode. All that put together, it is quite a combination to reboot the now played-and-done GTA IV.

Warhammer 40,00: Dawn Of War II

Warhammer 40,00: Dawn Of War II

If you have a specific fascination about space-orcs, space-elves, space-nasties and space-everything, you will like this game. This is the modern age ancient version of timeless gore and slugfest. Yes you got it, this is Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War II (Windows). For many years the warhammer tabletop game has been a very popular one amongst players. This game now brings that action to a computer screen near you (or the one you are reading on right now!). This is a Real Time Strategy game with a generous dose of RPG in it. It has more close quarters combat and more visual flair then before, making it quite a winner.  Continue reading ‘Most awaited action games of 2009 – a short list’
